Presentation to Of the Speed of Sight
 
On Tuesday 17th May 2016, a presentation took place at Southport Masonic Hall, when a cheque was presented to Mike Newman - a BLIND multi world record breaker on land, water and in the air - founder, 'Of the Speed of Sight', a registered Charity - for £1000.00.

This money was raised by three Southport Mark Lodges, and topped up by the West Lancs Mark Charities, after the approach by Andrew Sherman, (son of W. Bro. Colin) who is extremely visually impaired after contracting Lebers Optic Neuropathy at the age of 18yrs.
 
He has donated to the charity in his own right after a sponsored White Water Rafting day last summer, and has benefited from a "Track Day" with the charity, where he achieved speeds of 84mph.
 
The Speed of Sight Charity, provides life changing driving experiences for people with disabilities; either Sensory, Physical or Cognitive, and is open to all ages and abilities, with specially adapted vehicles for tarmac and off-road experiences.
 
Mike when accepting the donation said, "The donation will allow 10 disabled people to enjoy a free track/off-road experience", he and director John Galloway thanked the Lodges for their donation.
